Multi Clipboard is a tiny and portable application that lets you store up to nine Clipboard text entries and paste them into your applications using hotkeys. This way, you can manage multiple clips easily.
No installation necessary
Since it's wrapped in a portable package, you can drop the executable file in any part of the hard drive and double-click it to launch the program. Otherwise, you can keep it stored on a USB flash drive to directly run it on any PC with minimum effort. It doesn't make any changes to the Windows registry.
Straightforward UI and options
The interface is user-friendly, made from a small window with a plain and simple structure, where you can edit the text of the nine clips and specify their display name. Any clip can be made active by clicking a button, in order to paste it into any project you're working on.
The empty Clipboard cells can be distinguished from the filled ones by color: blue or yellow. Moreover, you can use the Ctrl+NUMPAD 1..9 key combination to paste any of the nine clips without having to make it active first.
Create and toggle multiple text clips
The software utility features three different text documents for storing clips in, so you can switch to the other two if you want to create more than nine clips.
As far as customization options are concerned, you can make the frame stay on top of other windows, instruct Multi Clipboard to start minimized to the tray to become non-intrusive, as well as disable hotkey support.
Evaluation and conclusion
No error dialogs popped up in our tests, and the program didn't hang or crash. It left a small footprint on system performance, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to work properly.
On the other hand, Multi Clipboard hasn't been updated for a long while, so you may experience compatibility issues on newer Windows editions. Nevertheless, you can test it for yourself.
